Frequently Asked Questions

General questions

Yes, both the Accu‑Chek Instant and the Accu‑Chek Instant S meters connect to the Accu‑Chek Smart Pix system using a standard USB cable. There is no need for an extra dongle. Once connected to a computer, the user then can transfer data, set the meter time and date, and set target ranges.

Yes, you may utilize Mac computers to access the Accu‑Chek Connect Online system.

No, there is no WiFi or NFC connectivity with the meter. However, the Accu‑Chek Instant meter connects to the Accu‑Chek Connect app on the PwD’s smartphone via BLE. Data can be transferred or reports sent through multiple connectivity options via the Accu‑Chek Connect app including email, text message, and automatic upload into the Accu‑Chek Connect Online system.

The Accu‑Chek Instant meter implements BLE Pass Key Pairing security, the same technology used in the Accu‑Chek Connect and the Accu‑Chek Guide meters.

The app works offline, but an active Internet connection is required to synchronize data with the Accu‑Chek Connect Online system. Online use is necessary for data sharing and data backup.

Yes. When you create an Accu‑Chek Connect Online account, your data is stored with that account. If you change mobile devices or have to re-install the Accu‑Chek Connect app, pair your meter to the app. When you link the app to your Accu‑Chek Connect Online account, you can begin tracking your data in your account again. It is recommended to create a backup (Settings > Backup) before switching mobile devices to ensure data has been saved and is available for import to the new device.

Yes. There is no limit to the number of meters that can be paired with the Accu‑Chek Connect app.

The Accu‑Chek Instant meter can only pair and synchronize data with one Bluetooth-enabled device at a time. Once the meter has been paired, pairing with a new device will overwrite the original pairing. The Accu‑Chek Connect app will synchronize data with the Accu‑Chek Connect Online system without duplicating results.

Yes. BG results and diabetes data transferred from the meter to the app are stored in the app. You can view this data when the meter is off and not actively connected via Bluetooth.

Yes, at least 720 results will remain in the meter’s memory at all times, despite the transfer of data to an app or online portal.

When the meter is paired with the Accu‑Chek Connect app, each BG result will be transferred automatically. However, the meter and smartphone must be within 3 meters to transfer successfully. If the app is not open, you will receive a notification on your smartphone indicating a new blood glucose value has been received.
